We were there last November and I'm sure there was a small duty free shop at the port entrance, but if I'm mistaken the town is about 20 minute walk from port and I think there were a couple of kiosk type places on the way selling that type of thing.

Back just over a week ago after sailing in and back to Heraklion on 1st May 08, Terminal building where you dock has loads of shops. Even able to get a UK morning paper at 10am. Airport is a nightmare though.
