Hi, We have been on two OV 2 trips to Tunis, to Carthage and Sidi Bou Said and also to the Medina and the fabulous Bardo museum. They were great, really interesting and no problems at all, we're travelling with OV2 on 29th April, booked for a Tunis excursion again with our 3 year old grandson, book and enjoy !

Grab a cab but not in the terminal. Go through the large gates 20 yards ahead where the guards are letting passengers through & there will be dozens more cabs all haggling for your business.Take a 15 min ride into the 'medina' where it's shopping gone crazy. Plenty to buy & experience for all.

Hello...Really good advice from "Wilba" but I would add you should take care of your possesions, keep handbags under your arm and no wallets in back pockets ....Heathe.

We have been on OV and OV2 stopping at Tunisia. Would strongly recommend you either book a trip - we did Carthage on our first cruise, or don't bother getting off as we did on our second. I would not suggest doing it on your own. In other ports your fine doing this but not Tunis. I have read some horror stories sbout people who have been ripped of by taxi drivers. Also the ship will go without you if you are not back in time.

Stay on board. Tunis is blooming horrible. The ship really shouldn't go there.

We went 2 years ago on OV1, getting off was horrendous, it really upset me, the taxi driver increased the taxi charge to double what he quoted, then had the cheek to ask for a tip. I was so ill that night from worrying at how we were hassled on the whole trip, i vowed that any other trip would be organised at least you know where you are going and if it is safe. Don't buy gold, they are very good at copying, one shower and the gold comes off, apart from that we had a brill time and are doing easterm med in June this year GL.
