Hi all... got back from a wonderful cruise yesterday. Unfortunately our white water rafting trip didnt happen as due to windy weather we didnt stop at Villefranche! Oh well.. better safe than sorry, tho we were really looking forward to it. Next time.. tho it will have to be an alternative cruise ship in future. Really have enjoyed our 3 times with OV.

Its a fantastic experience but be prepared to be swept away by the force of the water. Its not always easy to keep in control. An absolute must is a proper pair of enclosed beach shoes that you can wear in the water. You will find yourself thrown out of the boat a few times and need to stand on the rocks. Dont worry the water is not deep and some parts you may feel better negotiating on foot.

Thankyou very much for your comments. We had planned on wearing open/waterproof sandals or enclosed crocs for this trip. We are really looking forward to it, but want to wear the right footwear. Thanks.

As Neil has said, best to check with insurance, but I would add that it would be best to ring them and make sure you are covered other than just read your documents. You may have to pay an excess but you will be covered, as Ships hospital treatment is not cheap. Hope you enjoy your trip.....Wendy

Haven't even considered it I am afraid to say but just as an extra thought......Make sure that if you are not insured through the ship's excursion that you are covered with your holiday insurance and remember that this activity definitely comes into the "Dangerous Sports" section and is not covered by many insurance policies without additional payment and annotation on the policy. Regards. .....Neil
