Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Mc Gee (11 Dec 08 20:41)

Hello Noreen, There are no all inclusive drinks packages on Royal Caribbean. You can purchase different assortments of wine, or a soda package but that's all. On top of that RCI do not allow ant alcohol to be brought on from ashore whether embarking or from ports of call. Sorry to disappoint. .... Neil.

Thank you both for that answer. any advise on booking trips ashore. Is it as cheap and easy to do it ourselves? Noreen.

Not sure of your itinerary but there are very few ports in the Med where you are not better off DIYing. Do your research and trains and local buses make it so easy to see so much. The only one I would book and not necessarly with the ship is a Vatican tour because tour parties get huge preferences over ordinary tourists and although expensive will save hours of queuing. .... Peace of Mind

By Alana Mills

With Hurricane Matthew having torn its way across the Caribbean and the Florida coast and and Typhoon Haima raging in the Far East, many Cruise ships had to seek shelter in port or re-route to avoid it as well as hotels having to batten down the hatches causing holiday misery for many.It begs the question of how safe is your holiday?Over my 30 years in travel I have seen many disasters that have affected the travel plans of hundreds of people, like 9-11, The Icelandic Volcano, many weather ev...

Bliss in Alaska and Joy for China

By Anne Eaves

Anne Eaves's blog

Being a great fan of NCL cruise lines I have welcomed the news that the 2 newest ships to join the fleet in 2017 and 2018 will be based in China and Alaska respectively. Norwegian Joy which will enter service in Summer 2017 will be based in Shanghai and Tianjin. I have recently returned from a cruise on Norwegian Epic around the Mediterranean and there were a lot of Chinese staff on board who were training and getting ready for the new ship.Norwegian Joy is being styled exclusively for the Ch...

Free Wifi is this an essential...

WIFI seems to be one of the most important factors now days when people are considering booking a cruise. We used to offer free car parking or on board credit as extra incentives for booking but now we are finding that people would rather have free internet.Cruise lines are also starting to offer this as an alternative to their booking campaigns and whilst it will never take over from the free drinks packages I think it is becoming a close second. When I go on holiday I cant think of anything ...
