Rum Runner - Answered a Question by robertson (29 Nov 08 19:57)

I took up this option once on a cruise but found that to get value for money I had to take at least 3 or 4 soft drinks per day which I rarely finished. Mixers with alchoholic drinks are rarely charged for anyway. I would say its not worth it for adults alone but for children its ideal.

Personally I would say no but it is a matter of looking at your own consumption and gauging from that. I must admit that I do tend to use the coffee machines or the water or lemonade/fruit juice machines quite frequently mainly because I don't want too much fizz, see that's what I mean about personal choice. .... Hi.... Coffee and tea are free at all times even if it is delivered to your cabin but if you use the specialist coffee cafe then you would pay for it. The only drinks included in the soda package are fizzy drinks from the bar like colas or tonics or fizzy lemonade etc. diet or ordinary. You can normally get some form of fruit squash free from the machines in the cafeteria area most of the day and certainly water. .... Neil.

jones - Answered a Question by robertson (15 Dec 08 10:53)

I would say buy ONE but it does depend if you are going to use it repeatedly, we bought one between four of us and used it all the time, cans of coke ect on the Princess are $1.95 A CAN so if you drink plenty of sorft drinks its great, they do sometime question you if you ask for 4 drinks at a time but you just get 2 or 3 and then get another once they have served the first lot! ) Make sure you don't have ice other wise it's a bit watered down it come chilled from the pump!you do not have to fill the bottle you buy, they just put a sticker on the card and you show that and you get the drinks in a glass.

Thank you for information tend to drink coke through the day but was wondering if cans were included and bottled water, as would probably take drinks off ship when in port? also thought you both had to buy?

Defenitly buy one between your pary, regarding taking drinks off ship, you can buy bottled water as you leave the ship at each port, BUT at every port we stopped at the first trader or shop you come too sells water and soft drinks at a fraction of the price on board, it's also a good idear as you return to the ship to buy some water it always comes in handy in your state room. A large bottle of water on board in November this year was $3.95 a can of soft drink $1.95 + 15% service charge. you can get free water from the machine on Horizon deck but this as a slight clorination taste to it! and don't forget if you buy a soft drink package , not to have ice with your drinks it dilutes the syrup to mutch.

Sex, drugs and ports of call. ...

By Dean Michaelides

Dean Michaelides's blog

I recently read an article from a former cruise ship employee. He was explaining that having sex, taking drugs and making friends in the onboard sex dungeon was a regular occurrence on board one Caribbean cruise liner. Despite having sex with the clients being a sackable offence the staff would have no qualms getting involved. He also mentioned that the riskier the better so as well as having sex in the staff decks they would like to push the boundaries on the unpopulated decks. It wasn’...

Piraeus Athens Gateway Or ...

By Camilla Edwards

Camilla Edwards's blog

Continuing my look at European ports this week I thought I`d choose Piraeus, the port for the Greek capital Athens.Athens is probably most famous for the Acropolis, topped by the Parthenon Temple, and the National Museum. It is a bustling, busy city with lots to do and a place I have visited several times. It has lots of really good hotels, restaurants and bars as well as its history. Many cruise ships now visit Athens using Piraeus as the anchor port. The port sits about 7 miles from the city...
