Draught beer is approx £5 per pint but bottles are only approx £3 per pint bottle, wine is quite expensive but soft drinks very reasonable you can have a special plastic glass filled up as many times as you want from any of the bars with pepsi, lemonade etc for approx £5 per day. Tea, coffee and water is free all day from machines in Garden Cafe or from room service 24hrs

All alcoholic drinks came be described as a rip off in resraurants, hotels and cruise ships if compared with supermarkets.... oh, and bye the way, the Australian wine at about £4.99 such as Wolf Blass,Oxford Landing and Jacobs Creek beats the much hyped French offerings of anything like a similar price. I know its advertising but I get no commission. Try smuggerling a few bottles on board, drinks are a rip off: leave it to the mugs, there’s plenty of them drinking like the proverbial fishes.

Thank you everyone, just wanted to get it clear in my head that this was a reasonable deal, I'm not a big drinker but the wife is very partial to a glass of wine & a couple of G&T's, btw Sorry the terminology wasn't up to scratch for you Neil but didn't expect my grammar would be checked so vigorously, remember the old saying," If you've nothing good to say, then say nothing".

I would say that this is a bargain, considering how expensive the cost of drinks on NCL is. £192 divided by 7 is £27.42 per day. With (tiny) glasses of wine costing $8-10 (£5-£7)and beers from £4-5 and normal vodka and coke at around $7 (£4.50), even if you are just a moderate drinker you should save money. The wine is served in 125ml measures on NCL, where as most UK bars serve 175ml or 250ml measures!! And dont bother with the cocktails in the plastic "souvenir"cups, they have hardly any alcholic content and are a complete rip off.

Where do you buy the drinks package? and can you get beer and wine as my husband drinks beer and my mum and I drink wine. Thinking that on a 12 day cruise this might be a good deal! I hae bought the soft drinks package for 3 children.

We did the Jade in July, wonderful experience, what we did was purchase one of the soft drinks package (which my husband and I used) it cost about $100 which was cheap enough for 2 weeks of soft drinks for both of us. We both enjoy a bottle of wine to our meal, and although we didn't buy the wine package, we did regret it later as it would have worked out much better value, as the wine is excellent, it really is a good buy. We had sneaked onboard 2 bottles of vodka which we purchased in Malaga and using the soda package made a great saving. The Gratitues we asked to have removed from our bill and we tipped who we had decided deserved it. Have a wonderful holiday

hi we are going onboard the jade Oct 2010. I like you was hoping to sneak a couple of bottles of vodka on board, (must be an irish thing LOl) but my husband says we will get caught!!! We pick up our cruise in Barcelona and I suggested if we put alcohol in hold luggage we will be fine!! What would you recommend??? Thank you in advance

What we did in port was buy a bottle of vodka and poured it into 2 water drinking bottles and carried it past security in our hands, we had packed 2 litre bottles of vodka into our suitcase before getting on the ship.

Was on the jade earlier this month in the med. Bottles of wine are expensive. If you drink beer ask for schooners as you get nearly 3 pints for the price of 2. Hardly anybody asks for this but its better value. Bought a few cocktails of the day but did not bring back free glasses as they are too difficult to carry. Did take some drink on board with me. Illegally! You can bring wine on board and they charge corkage and serve it to you when you want it. I think the charge is 15 dollars per bottle. This might work out cheaper than drink packages. You can also take on soft drinks at anytime. We did this at ever port. Great ship and fabulous holiday hope you enjoy it.
