Excellent! if you're a forum member, we could start a roll call over there. I've started one, in any case, over on the 'other' forum (the American one we're not supposed to name...). See you in the Martini bar on the first night!

Azamara do not have wine packages and do not allow you to bring spirits aboard for consumption in your cabin. I believe they still allow you to bring 2 bottles of wine per stateroom at embarkation, solely for consumption in the stateroom. Having said that, on Azamara Journey last October we bought 6 bottles of wine in Sorrento, our first port of call, to bring back to Greece (we were ending the cruise in Athens). We were happy for them to be taken away when we re-boarded the ship, but no-one bothered and we took them back to the stateroom (where they sat in the wardrobe until we disembarked - we even took one of our 'two bottles allowed' home with us!).

Not you, Bosscat, I meant the O'sheas. Sorry for the inference. ....Neil

From April wine, in the MDR, will be served at the table free of charge. I would suggest that you have a look at the Azamara web site where the new programme explains what else will be free and available. .......Neil

Yes, I should have added that, Neil. Can't wait till we're back aboard Journey in November!

Are you going on the transatlantic cruise on 15th. November? What do you think the weather will be like and will there be enough to do? We are thinking of booking this.

Yes, we are. It's hard to say about weather, though it should be reasonable at least before we cross the Atlantic and again when we reach the Bahamas and Miami. We really enjoy sea days, which is why we booked it and get well into the talks (on our last transatlantic with Celebrity there was a guest lecturer and we attended his daily lectures, which were excellent - he was a marine biologist and lectured on sea mammals, but also did a series on climate change which was very illuminating), quizzes, some of the dance classes, films, etc. The good thing about Azamara, also is that you form friendships with other passengers really quickly as it's a smaller ship, so we really enjoyed the camaraderie and banter. Let me know if you do decided to book, won't you? Cheers, Helen

We have actually booked this now Helen. My husband rather likes sea days but I have to admit I like getting off the ship more but on this occasion we won't have the option. I understand what you are saying about camaraderie. We have travelled a few times on the Diamond Princess and really enjoy the Bible study group held each morning where we have found fellowship with other believers. I guess it would be hoping for too much to find one on this ship as I think this kind of class is quite uncommon on cruise ships. Anyway I am sure we will enjoy the cruise and be thankful. See you in November then all being well. Janet
