Long sleeved shirts and ties. Perhaps their school blazer or time to get them their first suit? For adults LBD and dark suits are fine. Why not join the roll call for this cruise too.

bagley - Answered a Question by Baylie (31 Mar 08 16:55)

We are travelling on the independance of the seas early next year, with two boys of a similar age.I have bought some very smart , suits- "worn once" probably for a wedding or similar at very reasonable prices from ebay in the last week.I think these will be fine for the boys to wear on formal nights along with shirts & ties of course. If you are looking for new- Next's wedding ocasionwear have some very nice boys suits/shirts/ties.I understand that dark suits for the men are acceptable & dresses below the knee for ladies are fine-I hope this is right , maybe otherreaders can confirm this ? Bon Voyage !

Parkes - Answered a Question by Baylie (03 Jun 08 11:37)

Hi Baylie. I'm also going to be on that ship in October (back to back East & West). We were flying from Manchester when we originally booked but have since changed our flights to go from Heathrow (the Flight from Manchester is now only going to Heathrow), where are you flying from? We live in Wall Heath (just outside Kingswinford). Our son is 4 years old and this will be his 4th cruise, we allways dress him up in a full diner suit (complte with dickie bow) for the formal nights. He really enjoys the attention he gets. Hope you have a great cruise and maybe we may bump into each other for a beer.

Hello Parkes. We were orignally flying from Birmingham but then realised that we would have to wait 4 hours in New York Airport so changed to Heathrow. I know Wall Heath well (spent most of my youth in Christophers). Will be glad to join you for a beer (however mine would be a white wine) we are flying with BA how about you?

Emma Davis's blog

A few years ago i was lucky enough to take a voyage with Hurtigruten onboard the Finnmarken. After being a little apprehensive about the trip it actually turned out to be one of the most wonderful and magical trips i have ever taken. it was just something completely different o my normal ‘holiday’ , the scenery, the excursions, the food onboard everything was just fantastic and I will always absolutley rave on about how fantastic a voyage with Hurtigruten is , and even more so if ...
