Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Anderton (05 Feb 09 11:23)

There is no doubt that a man in a dinner suit looks so much more suave and sophisticated. It works wonders for their sex appeal and charisma, perhaps you should work on those lines and take a James Bond lookalike with you. Works for me, Ida.

Cynthia, control yourself. You don't know what he looks like. I suggest that as Neil and Ida are so popular on this site a photo of them on their favourite ship should be submitted to 'cruise photos' Ann .

They have got some at the office and at Celebrity but they said, dressed like that they couldn't air them. Conde Nast did print them but who reads that?.... Neil.

Thanks for that comment Ida - the charm offensive (and unveiling of the DJ) begins tonight after a nice meal and a bottle of wine - I know it makes me sound a bit of a tart but needs must. Will use the James Bond analogy shamelessly. I don't want to have to traipse back to M & S next week so wish me luck. Thanks also to Deakin for your comment.

Wilba - Answered a Question by Anderton (05 Feb 09 09:32)

On the majority of RCI's these days about 60/65% of men wear a DJ. Having said that on a Far East cruise you can expect a different passenger contingent so it's a hard one to call. If there's a large Chinese & Australian crowd you may find few with DJ's, but it's more likely the majority will be the more mature American so live in hope. If it helps your cause, we too are on Legend Far East, not your cruise, & all seven of us will all be upholding the formal tradition......Regards Wilba.....ps. You could always offer him a promise!!!

Hi Wilba, We are also going on Legend at the end of February leaving Singapore on the 28th. Is this the same cruise as you? I will certainly be taking my DJ so there will be at least two of us!! regards David .

What is the dress code?

By Rosie Taylor

This is a question that comes up quite a lot when deciding which cruise to book.It really does depend on the cruise line. The general rule is 2 formal nights per week. How formal is formal? Well, this is a good question because recently a customer of mine came home from a cruise with Royal Caribbean and even on the formal nights some people where really casual. Trousers and polo shirts. Not even a shirt and tie!It seems that Royal Caribbean have really relaxed the dress code.Celebrity cruises ...

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the larg...

It is amazing how many guest I have spoken to over the last few weeks that have booked excursions through the cruise liner, which I may add are quite expensive. Cruise liners make a lot of money selling excursions at a hefty premium, but many people are happy to pay the extra because booking with the ship is the easy option and they have the comfort of knowing the captain will not leave port until everyone on his ships tours is back on board. I totally understand the reasons behind this but b...
