Hello Ms Hall, I've just come off Caribbean Princess and on formal nights, I saw ladies in maxi dresses, low backed dresses, sequined tops, and the attitude in the main dining rooms seems to be smart & comfortable; yes I do like my sequined tops and smart trousers / skirt outfits (I do not like dresses); I'm sure you will enjoy the atmosphere of the ship.

On our first cruise we were told we should wear this we should wear that and ended up paying £££££ for things we didnt need, You will look great, dont worry, you can even wear dressy trousers and glittery tops, our daughter 21 loves to dress up every night and couldnt care less what other people are wearing, go with how you are comfortable and remember its your cruise and not how other people think, you will have a great time,it will though go to quick...enjoy....Brian oh you will not feel out of place as other has sujested

I personally would feel out of place on a Princess cruise wearing a long backless dress on formal nights. PG of A (Mr) You are obviously new to this forum, please realise that the replies are all in "the best possible taste" Really you will be fine in the dresses you described, when we were on Princess the last time the majority of passengers wore "posh frocks" on formal nights.

If you are a female then it's ok, you can't overdress on formal nights really, but if you're a male then you may get some stares

Yes, you will be over-dressed. But if you stick to just one dress at a time you'll be fine LOL. ........... have a great time, Chris
