It is ok, wear a white jacket outside the tropics if you want, but please not with a black shirt and white tie! Traditionally, what people are referring to as a "white" dinner jacket is ivory in colour.

Lots of people wear them in the Med. and anywhere else for that matter. We were on QE2 in AUG/sept and white DJ's were strongly in evidence.

Once you are past Gibraltar white DJ is fine----following from the old Army rule that you went into tropical kit at that point!!!Mind you, I have seen plenty worn in the UK in Summer and being an old traditionalist, I dont really like that. (OK maybe I should have said"old fuddy-duddy!!)Cynthia.

We are going to the Canaries for Christmas on Oriana, husband is taking white dinner jacket as well as black dinner suit.

We went to the Baltics on Arcadia, and men had white D J's on so I imagine anything goes.
