I'll try again! Yes I have been on OV and the majority of people eating in the regular buffet restaurant in the evening didn't appear to have bothered changing from what they had been wearing all day. That's their choice, but it's not mine and we've not sailed on her again, despite it being a nice ship, with good sized cabins and an excellent choice of excursions.

Again this is not my experience at all, we got off OV yesterday and found that in the evening everyone made an effort. I truly believe that when OV leaves in November it will leave a huge gap in the market, that if someone does not fill quickly could destroy the British cruise market. if you think that probably over 1/2 million people have cruised on OV since its conception and many of them this type of cruise appealed to them it could cut the legs off the industry

Sorry but thats not my experience at all. Yes the ship is casual and is advertised as such but to say people have not bothered to change from what they have been wearing all day is suggesting a load of sweaty smelly dirty people straight from outings or the beach. Everyone I ate with had dressed perfectly reasonably and I cant remember seeing anyone in the restaurants in the evening dressed badly or in such a manner that I wanted to avoid. I get really fed up with such negative comments. I feel OV will leave a sorry gap in the market for those like myself who wanted their first cruises to be casual, young and not intimidating. I have since moved on to other cruise lines but look back on my OV cruises-in the not too distant past-very fondly. Gee, ignore comments from those like Guy who have obviously had a bad experience (you can find negative comments on all cruise lines on this site including those such as Cunard) and enjoy your cruise wearing your jeans- just think of those stuffy wearing their dj's on hot nights!!!! Perhaps they are the smelly sweaty ones!!.....Jane

Wear the shorts and vest you've worn all day, everybody else does!

Another ignorant OV comment. How boring. Smart jeans are fine except in le bistro which I would strongly recommend- a small restaurant, wonderful service and food, last time I ate along side the captain and his family. I would suggest a pair of trousers and shirt more suitable than jeans. La luna also very nice, need to book either. Enjoy your cruise!.....Jane

Have you ever been on there?, because if you have, you will know most people go for smart casual in the evening. I do not wear what I have had on all day and I will always have a shower before dinner. Yes smart jeans will be fine and have a good time

No dressing up on this ship unless you want to ...reccommend La Luna at night, ask for the sizzling strawberrys with black pepper ice cream.
