Q: Will my hubby look out of place in a suit on NCL jade heading for the canaries? I have seen lots of questions regarding dressing down eg wearing jeans but what about dressing up? We don't really want to wear jeans in restaurant not that I have a problem with anyone doing this-just can't decide whether to pack a suit or stick to linens etc 7 answers

Thanks everyone, gunna pack his suit and one of my "cocktail" type dresses along with the kind of dresses i would wear in restaurants back home. i think its almost harder to know what to pack when there will be some peole casual but at least i know not to pack the tux. we are in Barcelona for 4 nights too so i think packing will be a challenge!

I saw a lot of poeple including my husband wearing suits and smart trousers when we are went with NCL Gem, the 90% rule is not when I have seen I would say it more 75% of people wearing smart trousers and suits for dinner. I also took some nice dresses but not long dresses with me, and wore them.

You'll find that several people dress up, possibly for formal photos, but I've always seen some beautifully attired folk on Jade- and plenty who don't dress up. We always make an effort for the speciality restaurants, and have noticed officers entertaining family and guests in their best attire. There is a "Dress up or not" night in one of the main restaurants, and people often do go the whole way with their dress on that night.-Jo.

Hi Foster you will proberly find 90% do not dress up for dinner, and of the 10% that do many are staff but feel free to dress up its personal choice whatever you decide enjoy.

Hi we are about to head off on the Jade too, my hubby is taking his suit and tie and also more casual wear for other nights. We are also new to 'freestyle' but dont think it means 'dress down'. Pack the suit; and a nice dress!
