Kennedy - Answered a Question by Chalmers (27 Dec 08 15:36)

I am just back from two weeks on the Island Star in the Caribbean. There is no need for a dinner jacket or party dresses. Unless you intend eating in the Oasis and Steakhouse every night smart casual is the order of the day. You will find that Island Cruises are several steps down from P&O in terms of facilities, entertainment, food etc and given that after April 2009 the company will effectively be no more there is a definite lack of any real interest among the staff and crew on the ship currently. Sorry for being so negative. You might have a wonderful time - I did but only because of the ports of call.

Thank you very much for your answer. It is most helpful. I shall pack more appropriately with confidence now. I am looking foreward to the trip but I shall be more open minded to what might be a trip of a lesser standard. I feel that it will be better to go expecting less and be pleasantly surprised than to go expecting a high standard and be disappointed. Thank you once again for taking the time to reply as I really do appreciate your comments. Thanks ,Heather.
