The normal dress on thes line is dinner jacket on formal evenings, jacket and tie on informal evenings (this can often be smart shirt and tie) and open-necked shirt on casual evenings. Fred. Olsen will send you a list of the dress programme and the theme evenings with your tickets. The themed evening usually include tropical, red/white and blue and Western. Hope this helps.

Why do people keep saying "you will be sent a list of the dress programme with your tickets?" - We have got out tickets and the information regarding dress says "Dress Code Guidelines (with a note that these are subject to change) 3 formal and on other evenings the dress code will be "A MIXTURE" of Informal, Smart Casual and Themed evenings. How does that really help? How many shirts / ties does a man need to take? If on a fly cruise luggage is limited so every piece counts. The difference between smart casual and informal is immense, my husband also likes to wear a smart shirt and no jacket but will wear a tie if it is required, but needds to know how many shirts which will accommodate ties to take with him! The cruise line were no help, their administration department is manned by young ladies who have no idea and state they are not told how many nights of each by the ship! Not at all helpful! They should learn from other cruise operators - P&O list how many informal and formal nights so there is no ambiguity and you know before you go what to pack - get your act together Fred Olsen!

All cruise lines are keen to get customers back on board their ships once they have taken their first cruise. To help this they all have their individual loyalty schemes, most of which were in place many years before the likes of Tesco Clubcard points and the Boots Advantage card. Most loyalty tiers are measured on how many nights you’ve spent on board or the number of cruises taken. The benefits vary hugely between each cruise company. Some of the benefits for repeat customers include ...
