As the man says but there is no need to wear a jacket however I believe that a well dressed man is preferable to one who isn't. (I was going to say an undressed man but that may not be true). .... Ida.

There is no such thing as Informal nights on Celebrity any more - just formal and 'smart casual and above'.

Probably not - I'ts informal although I like to wear a different jacket every night unless it's really too hot. I mean you are on a cruise so you don't want to see yobs in tee shirts and 3/4 shorts in the restaurants. Bear in mind the last cruise I was on the restaurant staff were impeccably dressed in their pale green jackets.

The informal and casual nights are now all 'smart casual and above' and jackets are not necessary. Some men wore them, some didn't. My husband wore chinos and short sleeve shirts some nights and a linen suit others.

Or left side versus the right side of the ship?I suppose it depends on where you’re headed. I know that quite a few seasoned cruisers swear by the Starboard side. Although it really depends on what type of cruise you are on.For instance, if you are sailing in one direction, North or West generally people pr...

My NON cruise holiday this Easter.

By Haydn Jones

Haydn Jones's blog

I’ve just come back from a family Easter holiday to Spain, surprisingly not on a cruise this time. My children are of the age where we have to go away during school holidays. We decided on Benalmadena, Spain as we have been before , its not too far, and the boys love it there. The weather was absolutely glorious, we were so lucky this time of year to have 10 days of boiling sunshine. Benalmdena is a town on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, known for its beaches and the modern Pue...
