Perhaps this is where the saying "given a wide berth" comes from. ...Neil.

We must be kindred spirits. The answer is not as easy as you imagine. For example we sailed on the Artemis[P and O] expecting to have to suffer fixed sittings and tables. To our delight they have an informal buffet till 6p.m You could theoretically have breakfast,Lunch and dinner there.Even better they opened one side of the area at 7 p.m til 9 p.m and had an amazing choice of buffet meals for 2 weeks with tables to ourselves. On 2 nights they had Chinese nights which did require reservation but this was no problem. A great ship and the informality and tables to ourselves made the trip a joy. My enquiries have revealed that Thompson spirit and probably all Thompson ships are run on similar lines.
