Q: We (OH and I) would like to go on a cruise to the Baltic next year with his sister and her husband. We have never cruised before. The menfolk don't like the idea of formal dress and would prefer not to. Can anyone recommend a not too expensive cruise line?

definately recommend NCL...., their ships are friendly and of a high standard. no formal nights smart casual order of the day, but research your budget carefully, drinks onboard can be a little expensive compared to uk pub prices. You should be able to do own thing in any of the ports apart from St peterburg where you will have to do some form of organised trip, either ships excursions or official operator. The baltic is an excellent intoduction to cruising......
