We have always turned up earlier in Southampton and it has never been a problem. If you arrive before they open the check- in desks, they give you a card with a letter (a,b,c, etc) and call each group forward in turn when the desks open. We are boarding in Los Angeles on 25th Feb but are reliant on Cunard transportation from our hotel this time so just keeping fingers crossed that we will make lunch! Have a fabulous time.

Do you mean the 27th? so are we first time with Cunard getting off in NY and having three days there,we have been mainly with Celebrity and RCI we are at the Hilton and can leave asap own transportation but my concern was we have an inside cabin and if that made a different's when we turn up?YES thats my point I would like to settle in and have lunch and miss the day arrivals, what type of cabin did you have in Southampton?

Actually, it's 28th! We are having 3 days in LA flying out on 25th. It won't make any difference what cabin you are in. We were in a balcony stateroom but unless you are in either Queens or Princess grill, the procedure is the same whatever your cabin. We have only ever been with Cunard - this will be our 6th time with them. Can't wait!!

you just have to wait until they let you on. What a stupid question and what a silly idiot I am for replying.

In the UK we always turn up around 10.45 I really cannot imagine Carnival turning you away if you turn up even earlier, you will just have to wait until 11.00 until they open the check in desks

I'm on an inside cabin and it says we can board at 3.30pm I want to board for lunch and get settled down we are there the day before so dont wont to hang around at the hotel in LA airport HILTON also the day flight will be due in but I dont want to hang around portside for 2/3 hours either its never been a problem before but first time with Cunard do not know if they stick rigid to the rule of time.Maybe due to an inside cabin? but others will already be onboard.
