Some photos of the area used for passengers on Days at Sea during the Portraits of the Past Cruise ending May 2013 being accessed from the stairs at the bow on Promenade deck usually closed off.( IT IS NOT KNOWN AT THE TIME OF POSTING THIS IF THIS WOODEN DECKED AREA IS STILL IN USE FOR PASSENGERS)

Q:We have booked on P&) Aurora to USA & New England 18 Sept on a guaranteed cabin basis, we have just been issued with cabin E177 on deck 6 mid ships on looking at the deck plans I see it is a disabled access cabin & notice it is very close to the toilets & shops has anyone stayed in this cabin & can you tell me if it is ok ( noise smells )ect

This cabin is near the lifts and stairwell to the Medina restaurant. I do not know which of the two main restaurants are open for waiter service breakfast and lunch but I think it is the other one. therefore the toilets will only be used by diners who will have left by 10.30pm and the shops close between 10 & 11pm. After that all should be really quiet. I believe that your cabin is in a corridor and NOT open to the shops. It is the back wall of the shops that you see on the deck plan. I have never smelt anything untoward outside toilets on any ship I have been on. You should be pleased with a HUGE cabin, midship and in such a convenient place (excuse the pun). If you don't want it I will have it. Perfect for the long days over the Atlantic. Enjoy!

On Aurora it is usually the Medina Restaurant which is used for Breakfast and Lunch...Bob
