I found the food excellent and the let down was the devilled cockerel ~ there was no spiciness what so ever. Portions are small but the wait staff would really like for you to order from each course and if you wish to have the pasta and the risotto then they will gladly provide both. You can also ask for extra potatoes with your main course if you require.

None of the food was spicy. I am a fussy eater when it comes to pasta. I Never order it off a UK menu & never cook it for myself at home. With that in mind I THOUGHT I'd lose some weight on a couple of MSC trips I've taken in 2011.( One on Fantasia & the other on Splendida.) For the first time in my life I ENJOYED the pasta courses & included it with my meal each evening. Can't comment on the Risotto, did not try that. I definately got enough to eat & never did manage to shed any lbs. For a starter, book a short trip. Some people really enjoy the change that MSC offers & others don't. Good Luck

It is about 6 years ago that we sailed on a MSC ship; the food obviously had an Italian slant to it, but was excellent. At the time we booked early seating which is something we never do, but the dining times on MSC were very late compared to other cruise lines, I can recollect that late dining did not start until around 10.00pm

I agree with Orlando. The pasta and risotto course is definitely the best, so don't leave it out! You get this course as well as all the normal ones. The main meat dishes are nothing special. I don't like spicy food and don't remember any at all. The menu is themed to a different region of Italy each night. The breads offered are varied and good, too.

You will not get big portion, but you will get 7 courses. Not spicey at all, but more geared to Italian pallet. Every day there is an alternative to the menus on offer for that day. Steak or chicken but dont boither as this is usually very tough. The set menus are ok. These usually change every day to depict different areas of Italy. The pasta and rissoto courses are usually very good. Of course, this is only if you like pasta or rissotto. If all your concerns are that you cannot eat spicy foods then you should be ok. If you google menus on MSc SHIPS you should be able to see some info.
