Hi, we cruised on the The Destiny in October 2007. They will accept Debits cards for all your on board accounts. We are doing another cruise in December again on the Destiny, once again we will be using our Debit card with no problem at all. You sign for all of your purchases on board then at the end of your cruise, and when you return home it will be debited from your account. I also settle my final invoice by Debit card as they do not charge for that as they do for Visa or any other credit card. Hope you enjoy your cruise.

All you purchase on the ship drinks; items from the shops etc are charged to your cabin account which is settled before you leave. You will get a receipt keep these safe in case you have a query. Effectively you are joining the cashless society at least for the duration of your cruise. Normally they prefer credit cards; travellers cheques or cash but you will find out when you check-in if they will accept your debit card but I would have one or more of the options above if they don't, or ask your travel agent to advise or contact Thomson cruises direct and or check the booking details in their brochure.

I'm not aware of any cruise line that accepts Debit cards for on board accounts. You need to check if that's your only card.

We have cruised with Thomson since 2005 on the Destiny, Celebration and Emerald and have always paid by debit card. Under the section 'All you need to know' and then 'Money matters aboard ship' at the back of the Thomson brochure tells you what you need to know.

Head to the Caribbean for some...

By Rosie Taylor

Are you heading to the Caribbean for some winter sun?At this time of year when its cold and wet we start to think about sunnier climates! The Caribbean is a great place to travel to during the winter months. In fact, the sun shines for most of the year and the temperatures stay consistent.Last year the Caribbean was hit by 2 massive hurricanes, Irma and Maria. Some islands were very badly damaged. Most have managed to re build the resorts and are back to normal. The cruise ports are very much ...

My day out with Emirates..

By Lisa West

Lisa West's blog

Just before Christmas I was invited to Birmingham Airport to take a look around Emirates Airbus 380 while she was doing her very quick turnaround from landing to take off.It seems each time the airbus lands at Birmingham it brings lots of joy and excitement! Our first sighting was just after 11 when we saw her circling the skies waiting for her landing slot, the view from the conference room was great and she came into land right in front of us! I must admit I am definitely not a plane spo...

Well as a mother of four kids I am firmly in the no camp but there are others who are firmly in the yes camp.Me, my four kids, and my DadI think that there are arguments for both sides on this and the main one is the behavior of the children at hand.My children are no angels and they are warned when we go away that they are to treat their elders with respect and to not cause issues with other passengers, however there are times when some of the other passengers should also be responsible for ...
