Given the current situation it pays to be with an ABTA TA and doubly safe to pay by credit card but some TA's do charge up to 2/4% for payment this way. Certainly booking through US sites there would I think be no protection the laws might just apply to US citizens. Someone did comment not that long ago that americans if they cancel a holiday get all their monies refunded no matter how late it is, others might make a comment on this.

Hi! Monies are refunded up to Final payment date, but not beyond that point.
