Thank you. Mine are 11 and 14 - I am glad the teenager will have some company.

There were two teens on Discovery (similar rating for children as FO) when i did Baltics cruise in July.06 My two young grandchildren were the only children on Fjords cruise in school hols on Ocean Countess 10 and there were four teen's (2 mine) and about twenty smaller children on Balmoral to Fjords in August, 08. MY own grandchildren all enjoyed being with the family and other adults especially on the smaller friendlier ships. Although Splendour of the Seas (May11) had quite a lot of children on board they were of different nationalities and my little grandaugter didn't mix - there was little opportuniy on this big ship apart from children's club which she didn'y attend. You don't say how old the children are and if they have cruises before but I'm sure they will enjoy this cruise however many children are on board. My 16 & 17 year old grandchildren are coming with me on Opera next month and I expect there will be a lot of children on board but they say they were just as happy on Balmoral as Celebrity Summit in 09 I know it doen't answer your question but there should be others apart from your own - even if not in great numbers. The Black Watch is a nice ship.

Why not approach Fred. Olsen's office in Ipswich and ask them?

I don't think many children go on any Baltic cruise

Olsen are never the first choice for families but during the School holidays there should be quite a few kids.

Pat, just wondering as we are taking our children and they would like to know. As I said Fred have answered this question a few times on other threads. If I don't get an answer (and I didn't get one to the email I sent to keep this question off the forum) then we will find out when we get on board. It's summer holidays and all the 4 bed cabins were booked up long ago so I expect there a quite a few. Glad you liked Thomson Spirit - so do we, but we switched to Fred when Thomson abandoned UK departures. Looking forward to 2012 when they return.

Had a wonderful week on the Spirit, review has been submitted. Didn,t get to spinalonga unfortunately but it is definitely on the itinerary for next time. Talking to others who did the ships excursion this seems the best way - although more expensive- as they had almost an hour on the island before any other people arrived which added to the atmosphere and made it easier to look around. Thanks for your interest, pat
