Yes, we stayed at the Travel Lodge in Dartford on one of their special deals i.e. £19 for two people (breakfast extra but not v good) free car parking just outside our bedroom window. About 5 or 6 miles from Tilbury terminal. Excellent value although the hotel has a well used atmosphere. It was clean but basic. We ate out at a nearby pub and had a good dinner there. Would use it again if we were in the area.

The Cruise & Maritime brochure mentions the Park Inn Thurrock which is avaiable with or without parking. It is approx. 5 mins from the Cruise Terminal. Rates from £65 per room on B&B. Call 01708 719988 or visit www.thurrock.parkinn.co.uk I Hope this helps.

....the cruise terminal is a few miles from nowhere and the local station. The surrounding areas are industrial and/motorways and housing. There is no particularly interesting tourist spots nearby apart from 'Tilbury Fort'.

there are no hotels of note in tilbury, but in the vinicity there are all the national hotel/motel brands represented travel lodge premier inns etc. if you do a google search for hotel in the thurrock/lakeside area and then check the wonderful trip advisor web site as an alterative to driving you may consider train to london, stay in london see some of the sites and catch a train from fenchurch street to Tilbury.

Hi, obviously you've done the journey from Fenchurch Street to Tilbury. I would need to get there from Victoria Coach Station, which is accessible by underground I guess? What's it like to get to cruise terminal from Tilbury station please i.e. walking distance or bus or taxi etc.

There are no Hotles near the Tilbury cruise terminal but there must be a number of motels around within a five miles radius, I'll check. To think Tilbury once had its own cruise terminal station, it's own grand hotel and was like the Heathrow airport of it's day, with Ocean Liners and cargo ships to all over the world.
