All cabins have air conditioning which is adjustable in the cabin (your cabin steward will help you with this should you be unable to work it out)....there will be an electricity point for hair tongs but you will need an adaptor as it will be a two round pin socket i.e. normal european socket...although we noticed our tv was plugged into a british type 3 pin socket on the Celebration!

Going Thomson next month, but on Spirit, to Red Sea. Thomson make no mention of tea/coffee in cabin - d'you think the plug will be ok if we took a kettle? Been told theres free tea/coffee at various places 24/7, but for morning coffee in bed we're both too selfish & bone-idle to pad up the corridor, and anyway I'm not a pretty sight that time of day and would possibly frighten the crew. Be grateful for any suggestions, ta. Chris.

No there is no kettle in the cabin and you're not supposed to use a kettle yourself because of the fire risk...having said that we always used to take a kettle and hide it in the wardrobe when not in use ..but we don't bother now as it uses up precious space in the suitcase!! and it really hasn't been a problem getting tea/coffee and bringing it back to the cabin we take it in turns to slip on shorts and vest and go and fetch it...doesn't matter what you look like, you're on holiday for goodness sake!!!!! We've done Red Sea Magic twice and also the repositioning from Palma to Sharm el Sheik and loved every minute of it...there are some amazing sights to see!!

Many thanks. Points taken, but don't need to pack a sunbed for this one, so just might make space for a kettle! Looking forward to it - a bit different from our usual sun & sand cruises. Cant believe I said that - Egypt/Jordan/sand - but you know what I mean. Thanks again. Chris .

There are always people who want to 'break the rules.' The ban on electrical appliances is there for safety reasons. I would not want to be on a ship where thoughtless people think they can bend the rules and possibly endanger the lives of hundreds of other people because they are too idle to get out of bed.

Hi the Celebration cabins are air conditioned and have elctrical sockets. We used them to charge up our phones.

I don't think you ought to risk going on a ship at all, if it takes you over a year to wake up LOL.

Royal Caribbean and Technology

By Lisa West

Royal Caribbean seem to always be one step ahead from the rest when it comes to technology. They seem to be investing to make sure they have the infrastructure on their ships to have correct Wi-Fi and the latest technologies. The newer Royal Caribbean ships are all using a new technology, marketed as Voom which has improved internet access aboard. Here you can stream and watch videos on your devices easily.Royal Caribbean are also working on a new boarding process that uses facial recogni...

This Easter half term has been a particularly adventurous one, for one particular member of The Jones household this week, my 14 year old son! He travelled to the other side of the world with his school friends on a G.C.S.E Geography trip of a lifetime! The week flew by for him, although not so much for my wife who became his twitter stalker! He visited San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley (as shown in the pic), Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Los Angeles….yes ...
