On QM2 recently we got white cotton bathrobes, but not until the 2nd evening. They were one size, so a bit too big for me and a bit too small for my hubby, but they absorbed the water well after a shower. We also found white towelling slippers in the wardrobe for us. toiltertries consisted of shower caps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel and bars of soap. Also a notice in bathroom staing that anything else needd ie toothbrush, could be obtained via your cabin steward. Bath and hand towels plus flannels, all changed twice a day too.

Thank you for your answer to my question. I have had some of the extras you mention on P&O in the past. And we had bathrobes and a surprising amount of toiletries when we had a suite on Island Star recently, but because we were not expecting so much to be in the cabin I packed a lot of stuff I didn't need, not good on a fly cruise!

Thanks for the reply. I originally booked a BB cabin on deck 11 but upgraded to an AA on the same deck because I wanted a cabin with a bath. I've just checked OV website and and they are describing it as a suite rather than a stateroom but as I say never been on OV so not sure what to expect.

Yes they do have bathrobes in the suites, and the toiletries in the staterooms are molten brown showergel and soap.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Very pleased about the bathrobes, leaves a bit more room in the suitcase for clothes!

Traditional or Freestyle ? Whi...

Carnival`s decision to introduce a new rule of traditional diners on their ships made me think of the whole subject of when, where and with whom do you choose to dine on your cruise. On board Carnival Glory and Carnival Conquest passengers who opt for first or second sitting traditional dining will be turned away from the restaurant if they are more than 30 minutes late for their selected seating. So that means be there on time , and probably queue to get on, or go to the buffet.Dining time s...

This morning a two night cruise on Celebrity Silhouette went on sale for 28th April next year. This will be the first time Silhouette has sailed from Southampton so a great opportunity to see the ship without the hassle of flying. At a lead-in fare from just 299pp including all drinks, food, entertainment and gratuities, it was a bargain.Silhouette takes nearly three thousand passengers and as I write this, there are only a handful of cabins remaining which we expect to see go in the next hour...

Coldplay & Cocktails

Last week I enjoyed an extended weekend away to visit my family in Wales, mainly to celebrate my beautiful nieces 18th birthday. It was lovely as I had my own family with me for the weekend part, then I had some well needed pamper time with my sister (well a dip in her hot tub!) oh and yes it was my birthday also so went to see Coldplay in Cardiff.Cardiff did not disappoint, 41 years on from the hottest summer ever, it was bucketing rain all day! A bit like last year when I saw the Manics in...
