I was in cabin 9072 - perfectly positioned between 2 lifeboats (on Golden deck) to give me a clear view out through the picture window. The cabin was spacious, light & bright, painted cream with turquoise soft furnishings & had twin beds at right angles to the window. Other cabins along the row did seem darker where their view was more restricted than mine. There's lots of hanging space - 2 double wardrobes & loads of drawers. The shower room had a roomy rectangular cubicle, a nice vanitory unit & plenty of storage. The toiletries provided are basic & unbranded - a bar of soap & a shampoo dispenser in the shower. I wasn't aware of vibrations or noise etc in this cabin. Golden deck is good - handy for restaurants, shops & outside.
I've been on Sunbird, but it was too long ago to make remember the detail to make a sensible comparison. One thing about Island Star is that it is all buffet dining & informal - not my preference, but I know it suits many.
Enjoy your cruise!
