Find Your Cruise...
Everything on board IS priced in dollars. Gratuities are NOT added and NOT expected. ALL gratuities are included in the price so it is only necessary to tip extra if you really want to. On our recent trip on the Journey it seemed that many tipped their cabin staff a little extra but no-one else. I don't think there was draught beers but I am not sure. I know our friend paid $3 for a small glass. Wines at lunch and dinner are FREE (if you drink the house wine) and it keeps flowing. ALL coffees and teas including specialities (without alcohol) are FREE. There is also conflicting opinions as to whether you can take alcohol on board for cabin consumption but you definately CAN. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your answers they have helped to clear up my queries. Also it was useful to know that you are allowed to take your own alcohol aboard so we will be taking a nice bottle of Southern Comfort to have on the balcony to watch the sun set.......cant wait. Regards Pam.
We had a wonderful time. It was the best cruise we have ever had. If you have got an on-board credit you may be interested to know that you can draw dollars in the casino on your ship's card for a charge of 3%. Obviously you don't have to spend the dollars in the casino. We used them to pay for some of the excusrsions that we had arranged privately. I do hope you enjoy - Alan.
We're just back from Journey transatlantic Rome to Miami and had the best cruise ever. I can concur that the wine doesn't half keep flowing at lunch and dinner, so much so that by the last few days of the fortnight I was refusing it completely! I might add that the food on Journey just gets better and better.
On our recent Caribbean journey ( on Journey - a week ago) I thought this was limited to 2 bottles of wine on embarkation and NOT spirits. They certainly charge for spirit packages in the room - 1 ( or 1.5L) plus 6 sodas plus nuts - $50 - same as on other Celebrity ships.
All prices in $ as noted elsewhere
DO double check your joining package re drinks policy!!
Ours clearly stated that NO alcohol EXCEPT 2 bottles of wine were allowed at embarkation and could attract corkage if drunk in the rstaurants
Drinks are reasonable ( hotel) prices and have no 15 or 18% added
Only added tax is 18% on Spa treatments.
Onbard free wine is generally very good - served from bottles not carafes and they will serve it by the glass and will top it up as requested
Note the other wine bottles are offerd at 1/2 price BUT this is as a package of 3 bottles onl. This caused the only row I had on ship on grounds of misrepresentation .
We are off on the Quest this weekend.Do you know what they charge onboard for a bottle of gin,or is it best to take a bottle with us.
I haven't cruised with Azamara this year but last year there was no limit on wine, beer or spirits taken on board either on embarkation or at any of the port stops. I have jusrt checked the Azamara website and it seems that this policy may have changed. It might be as well to email Azamara and ask teh question.
All pricing is in US$. Gratuities are included in the price and there is no need to add unless you wish to. The only gratuity added on board is for the Spa and these are at 18%. From April 2010 all wines with lunch and dinner are included, as is free soda, water and coffee. They also do a 50% offer on several wines daily which brings the price down to around $14. You can bring on alcohol for your cabin too if you wish.
Many thanks for your useful answers it was kind of you to take the time and reply........
We are joining the Azamara Journey on Monday will let you know when we return.
