I can't see how you can make any more progress with this or how any one would have done. I have been with Thomson where some people have had free All Inclusive and I have not - when you book you are deemed to have accepted the price etc and likewise Thomson will say that if the price of the cruise were to go up then you are a winner - likewise again, if you want certain cabins you have the most choice the earlier you book. It's very unfortunate but there is no way around it unless your deposit is less than than the difference between 98 and 338 - ie £240 - then you could rebook and forfeit the deposit you have lost but still have made a saving. You will not need to re do your insurance.
Hiya if only paid small deposit cancel then rebook your getting some good deals with thompsons for there ships and island cruise on escape free upgrade to allinclusive drinks package its with other t.a if you would like no contact me here .
Thomsons now want £169 for a 7 day drink package per person. I like a drink but ...
what are the prices like on the ship.
Hiya i was on thompsons site tonight and your getting drinks package on island escape in december for cainers cruise free go on site and check .
I am not sure of the prices on board but something to remember about the drinks package is that this is not just for your evening drinks but will also cover your soft drinks during the day (although not botted water) and if it's hot then this can soon mount up. Also it includes wine with your evening meals.
That's an great deal to pay I just come back from the christmas cruise and there was no way I could drink that amount, complain to Thomsons head office. if you get no joy CANCEL.
I have had the same problem so I cancelled my drinks pass then re called and added with an extra fee of £35 admin fee, This was very simple as if you cancel your full holiday there is a £50 fee per person but thats a lot of paper work for them so complain once cancelled drinks pass then they will re book at £98 +c £35 admin fee.
How did you do this? Our travel agent told us that if we tried to cancel and then re-book that Portland would charge still charge us £338 as this was the price at the time of booking. The only option they gave us was to cancel our orginal booking (loosing our deposit) and then re-book the holiday, this we have done which has saved us a total of £145.
Yea, cancel your holiday, get your deposit to book for another cruise next year, book this holiday through "cruise deals" it's cheaper look for all inclusive upgrade, book it and use you first deposit for the same time next year and when you book it it may have the "all inclusive " already on, .
