No cruise line encourages this - it erodes their on board profits. (Do you take bottles to your local pub or restaurant)? Some lines search bags and remove your alcohol!

No problem with Thomson ships as long as you don't go crazy. You can buy from the duty free aboard as well and drink the booze in your cabin. No confiscation or Spanish Inquisition like some other lines.

No we don't take bottles to our local pub, but then again they don't provide us with a cabin to drink it in either. Restaurants we have in the passed and paid corkage no problem. Were not looking to take a vast amount on board just a few select bottles for the cabin.

I am an old lady but like a tipple myself on holiday but cant afford high prices i am quite happy to pay corkage on a bottle or 2 of gin for my two weeks cruise. will it be taken off me as i board the thompson spirit at harwich? on a north cape explorer cruise? can vouchers be pre purchased for a drinks package . as on some other cruise ships so i can budget my spending. or can i pay to upgrade to all inclusive. the free parking upgrade is of no use to me so i shall loose out.

I can't see no problem in you taking a couple of bottles of Spirits/Wine on board with you. When we vistited Mahon and gibralter we purchased a few bottles of Spirits and were never stopped from taking them to our Cabin. Thomson certainly don't search bags, even though they are sent an x-ray machine before you are allowed back on board after your port of call visits. Enjoy your cruise.

Good news, just received the following email from Thomson's Good afternoon There is no limit to take on board from Harwich as long as it is kept in the cabin and not drunk in public areas on the ship. Kind regards Thanks for the replys Thomson customer support.
