HILL - Answered a Question by French (09 Jan 09 13:14)

Hi I sailed on the Navigator of the sea in 2007 and am also going on the Independence on 20th June (see you on the ship!) - £64 is neither here nor there - depending on what kind of wine you like obviously - my partner and I could get a nice bottle for the equivalent of around £10-12 so it works out the same - the ship also do better savings on wine packages when you board in Southampton - we are probably having one of theirs this time.

Your missing the point completely. Due to the drop in the dollar/pound what was good in 2007 is now irrelevant. Much has been asked & written about this, much by myself in the last week & I suggest you read as per my earlier response if you want to save yourself a whole load of money on the wine packages in June....Wilba.

CARTER - Answered a Question by French (10 Jan 09 17:33)

We were on the Independanced of the Seas in October . Superb ship, good food and plenty of room. However it was spolit a bit by the high cost of the drinks which will be worse now with the value of the dollar increasing. Beer in the pub was very expensive, too expensive for us to drink. Wine was very costly at the table went without. What is not too well known is that you are not allowed to take any drink on board at all. If you buy cheap drinks at a resort where you stop is is kept for you and given back just before you disembark on the last day. Staff great.

A Right Royal Caribbean Dress ...

By Hannah Wilson

Over the last few years there has been a general drift towards more casual attire during the evening on certain cruise lines. P&O and Cunard have done away with semi-formal evenings and now just have Formal or Casual attire while Celebrity have introduced Evening Chic which is really evening casual by another name. The latter is proving especially popular with men who no longer have to find room in their suitcase for their dinner suit, also those who hate formal attire when they are on ho...

Celebrity Edge is on its Way

By Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke's blog

So the brand new Celebrity Edge has now gone on sale for her maiden voyage on the 16th of December starting her Caribbean voyages where she will be based in Fort Lauderdale. This ship is like no other at sea with so many fantastic new amenities on-board such as the new infinite balconies which even I was blown away by this. The balcony itself is now within the cabin and has a separator if you wish to use it to separate the balcony from the cabin. You then have a switch that you can push that ...

New Ban hits flights from UK ...

By Julia Rhodes

Julia Rhodes's blog

We have all been horrified by the news recently of the terror attack that took place in Westminster and in particular on Westminster Bridge. It was devastating to hear that a Police Office lost his life along with other innocent people who were walking on the Bridge that day. They say the attack took 86 second in total but will have a lifetime effect on many. My Brother in Law works in the Houses or Parliament and, in his words, was told to run for his life when the attack was taking place ne...
