HILL - Answered a Question by French (09 Jan 09 13:14)

Hi I sailed on the Navigator of the sea in 2007 and am also going on the Independence on 20th June (see you on the ship!) - £64 is neither here nor there - depending on what kind of wine you like obviously - my partner and I could get a nice bottle for the equivalent of around £10-12 so it works out the same - the ship also do better savings on wine packages when you board in Southampton - we are probably having one of theirs this time.

Your missing the point completely. Due to the drop in the dollar/pound what was good in 2007 is now irrelevant. Much has been asked & written about this, much by myself in the last week & I suggest you read as per my earlier response if you want to save yourself a whole load of money on the wine packages in June....Wilba.

CARTER - Answered a Question by French (10 Jan 09 17:33)

We were on the Independanced of the Seas in October . Superb ship, good food and plenty of room. However it was spolit a bit by the high cost of the drinks which will be worse now with the value of the dollar increasing. Beer in the pub was very expensive, too expensive for us to drink. Wine was very costly at the table went without. What is not too well known is that you are not allowed to take any drink on board at all. If you buy cheap drinks at a resort where you stop is is kept for you and given back just before you disembark on the last day. Staff great.

Fact Or Fiction Its Over To You

By Gail Ryan

Fact Or Fiction – It’s over To YouI have worked in the travel industry for more years now than I care to remember. Over the years I think I have been asked nearly all the questions customers have about holidays in general, but since I now mainly deal with cruising I am still amazed that people have the same misconceptions about cruising they did when I first started in travel.I think the main one I still hear is ” no, cruising’s not for me, it’s boring and fu...

Our flight from Hong Kong to Auckland was in the early evening so we decided to make the most of our last few hours and explore a bit more. We had spent the previous night at the Cosmo Hotel in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island so after an early breakfast at the hotel, we checked out and left our luggage with the concierge. The Cosmo is very close to plenty of shops and bars and the Happy Valley racecourse. As I was so close, I decided to check out another popular hotel we use the Metropark Causew...
