Q: We are going on Brilliance Of The Seas on the Dubai cruise .And i was reading the general information in the RCCL brochure item 18 "what about alcoholic drinks " apart from the age limit it does say quote "Royal Caribbean reserves the right to limit or refuse alcoholic beverages to be brought aboard the ship .Any alcohol brought aboard will be stored and delivered on the last nght .........." It is rather ambiguous as to say "the right to limit " Are they that strict ,if you just have say 1 btle of vodka for the cabin !Was it true that a couple were put off their cruise ? any experiences ? 5 answers

Just returned from the Dubai cruise and you cannot take any bottles to your cabin, our friends were very cross as other cruise lines allowed them to buy a bottle from the duty free shops and take to cabin

Why anyone would want to take Alcohol onboard a Ship (whether smuggled or not), so far away from home amazes me. It cost us an extra £125.00 just to get back from Southampton to H.O.Thames last Feb when we were put off the Independence of the Seas. My Wife, Son and I along with 4 other families and Couples were asked to leave after Alcohol was found in our cases. My Wife had packed a bottle of Gin without my knowledge. We were asked to go to Security to identify our cases and open them for inspection. It was very embarassing and something that we will no longer do. Also the bottle was emptied in front of us. Good Luck and enjoy your cruise.

Firstly you are not allowed to bring on board any alcoholic drinks, they will take them off you, if you try to smuggle them onboard they have thre right to not let you board the ship, and yes this has happened to some people.and the costs of getting back home are yours not the company..Also they have the right to stop serving you if they think that the person has had enough to drink," safety at sea" as for the bottle of Vodka in your room, even if you bought it from the duty free shop it will be given back to you at the end of the cruise,...Brian

Any alcohol taken onboard will be removed and held until the last night of cruise .......be warned! 18 year olds can purchase alcohol whilst the ships operate outside of the USA providing the parent or guardian signs a waiver once onboard
