I am almost certain there was a happy hour, which I seem to think was late afternoon. I have travelled on Sapphire Princess three times in the far east and always took the drinks package, so never actually took advantage of the happy hour. If you haven't travelled on this vessel before, I think you will enjoy it, it is a ship I would return to without any qualms. Enjoy your cruise.

I don't know but I'd love to find out. We live in Stockport and are going on the sapphire princess next year!

The Independence gets some jaz...

By Julia Rhodes

Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas has always been a firm family favourite sailing out of Southampton with something to offer everyone who sails on her. So much so she was even voted the best ship sailing out of Southampton! She entered service in April 2008 so is coming up to 10 years old – wow! I sailed on her back in 2012 and thought she was an amazing ship, although she was looking a little tired even back then. So it is no surprise to hear that she is getting a multi-m...

By Chris Halford

Chris Halford's blog

Last month I wrote my reasons for not pre-paying my gratuities (You can read that here), but cruise lines are giving more and more reasons not to even pay them at all! Since I wrote this blog P&O have announced a rise in gratuities for all sailings after 23rd March 2018 and people arent happy!Despite this rise, they still have some of the cheapest gratuities at sea, however the problem is most P&Os customers are British and we dont like tipping. Not only this but they have risen signi...

Norwegian Fjords

By Charlene Thackeray

Charlene Thackeray's blog

I have never been to the Norwegian Fjords but we have just booked a little break on the Fred Olsen Balmoral for May. It is just a short 5 night sailing but as Charlie has a half day at school every Friday and then the Monday & Tuesday are inset days we thought we would get away. This will be our first time visiting the Fjords and our first time with Fred Olsen. This will be completely different to our last cruise in December on Allure of the Seas and I dont think Charlie realises how small...
