Yes you can as long as you are not taking it onboard by the crate load or your not underage. Never had a problem with P&O.

Probably not much help but Princess allow two bottles of wine per person per stop. They don't advertise this very much ( understandably ) and we only discovered it when a fellow passenger carried a box of wine on board at Cannes. This is for consumption in Cabins only. If P&O don't, try making a fuss, in the financial climate they are unlikely to want to upset future cruisers.

A lovely rum to purchase is Appletons Rum, we bought this on a previous holiday in the Caribbean. We have just returned from a two week Mediterrean cruise on board Ventura,we bought bacardi and had no problem taking it back on the ship for consumption in the cabin.Have a fabulous holiday. Corinne.

Oh yes had appletons on many occasions when visiting jamaica. Other side of caribean on the next occasion. Fingers crossed for a good cruise aboard the Ventura. The reviews are very mixed. How did you find it Corinne? Also m,ay i ask which airline you flew with. Curious -as the flight is long and we want to be comfertable, although we have booked premium seats, still want peace of mind. thanx x.

No problem with P&O,some ports in the carribean ask you to order it before a certain time of the day and its delivered to the ship but you can certainly have it to drink in your cabin not like some of the american ships where they do not allow your own alcohol and charge extortionate prices for drinks stick with P&O for a great cruise we are off to the panama in novso have a great time.

Middle East! Get Your Act Together!

By Freddie Moser

With all of the conflict happening in various parts of the Middle East, I can’t help thinking that they are missing out on a huge financial boost from tourism.Look at the success of places like Dubai, a haven in the middle of some of the most dangerous countries in the world right now. A place I have travelled to twice, both on a cruise, and as a holiday destination. It oozes quality, and has amazing weather to boot. But to the immediate North of Dubai, sits Iran, which shares its border...

Silversea was not meant to be!

By Barbara Hopley

Barbara Hopley's blog

On Monday 22 May I was booked to go on a ship visit of the ‘Silver Whisper’ by Silversea Cruises. We get invited to see ships all the time but do them on our days off as too busy to take time out of a working week. That’s how dedicated I am to see as many ships as possible as so much easier to sell when you have seen them.I had been looking forward to seeing this ship as have never seen a Silversea ship, it had been booked for a few weeks and I made my arrangements at home ...
