We went on Ventura last summer and a pint of Boddingtons or a 500ml can of John Smiths was £2.10. Lager would be very slightly more expensive. In general prices are in line with your local pub as long as you don't live in London. This was the most pleasant surprise about P&O. It would be very easy to feel that they might take the opportunity to rip you off as you are a captive audience but they absolutely don't. Fair play. The other good thing about cruising with them is that you can have a drink of something you know and recognise no matter where in the world you are.

doesn't really answer my question that does it? can't you give me prices like what i askesd, and other people have done? being told something is 'reasonable' may be reasonable for some, but cheap for others, yet expensive for some others too. a price would be nice, like £2.50 per pint.

pasted from a previous answer by Brian Ingle ...... Tips are not included nor are they added to your bill. Envelopes are left in your cabin, together with a tipping guide and you pay in cash. This is what the P&O website says......."First of all, please do not worry about it. Who, when and how much you tip is at your discretion. Tips are usually given in cash at the end of your holiday to your stateroom Steward, Restaurant Stewards in the Club Dining restaurants, and to any other staff who you feel you wish to reward. The amount you tip is entirely up to you although, as a guide, we recommend a total amount per person (aged 12 and over) of £3.75 per day, which covers all staff who have looked after you during your holiday. The only exception to this is for passengers travelling on Oceana and Ventura who have opted to enjoy the flexibility of Freedom Dining as, with this style of dining, you may be seated at a different table and served by a different waiter on each occasion. We will therefore add an automatic service charge of £1.60 per passenger, per day to your shipboard account for the Restaurant Stewards. You will, of course, be able to increase or decrease this charge at your discretion by visiting Reception at any point during your cruise. You can also tip any other staff, including your stateroom Steward, as you feel appropriate. Further details of who and when you should tip can be found in your stateroom."...............Brian .........(copied over by the ferret)

Basic drinks prices can be found by clicking the rather small “sitemap” at top left of this page. Then scroll down to “how much for a drink”. Not comprehensive, not necessarily fully up to date, but useful as a general guide.........No 15% service charge for drinks on P&O, but a recommended charge/tip for servicing cabin/restaurant at £3.75 pppd. ………………Web ferret

You could have put on a couple of prices ie beer or gin and tonic etc. like Ingle ! Just an idea for budgeting purposes was the question.

About the same as pub prices if not a bit cheaper. Pint of lager was around £2.50 and glass of house wine about £2.75. There is no service charge......Brian

oh yes, that was another thing too, do we have to tip for everything, like when bartenders bring us drinks, or when we get room service?
