They do state in their cabin info that they will take bottles off you and keep them till the last day of your trip but other than entering the port at palma on day one our bags were never searched.

We did a three week cruise on this ship and we never had our bags checked. if you buy spirits in the onboard shop they keep them till your last day on board.

We have been on the Island Escape Nov 07 and never had our bags searched. Most cruise lines will keep any bottles till the end of your trip if they find it.

When we went with Island Cruises we often brought a couple of bottles of wine at the duty free shops and took them on board - didn't know you weren't allowed! On the last day we had a long wait on board and made several excursions to the duty free shop as we didn't have any British money to buy drinks on board and the staff even supplied us with ice buckets to keep the drinks cold.
