Hello, I took out the drinks package on Celebrity Eclipse & found it worth doing, I have some mobility issues, so new in advance that I would be spending quite a bit of time on the ship. Our routine was to get off the ship in the morning for wander, back on board for lunch then sunbath around the pool. The package covers all drinks up to the value of $9, given a bottle of becks cost $6.50 for a 300 ml bottle (half pint) your money can run away with you, 8 bottles (4 pints) you’ve got your money back. Cocktail’s/ Sprits & Wine by the glass $8 & coffees $6, all these prices include the tip. The package takes care of every thing including bottled water from the bar areas only, if you use the mini bar £3.50. What I really liked about it no need to keep signing for drinks. The packages seemed very popular & I didn’t hear any one complaining about them. Hope this help's what ever you decide, happy cruising.

Only you can answer this question, since only you and any other members of your party know how much you are going to drink whilst on board. Also drink packages vary from ship to ship. The one real advantage however much you drink you won't be hit by surprise drink bills at the end of the cruise.

From my point of view the drink packages on the Celebrity Equinox were well worth the cost because of never having to worry about the cost of individual drinks.

I think it is a matter of what you like to drink as much as how much you drink, for instance a martini is arounds 12-13 dollars including the 15% tip therfore if you had 5 you would be even, if you drink soft drinks and water and beers maybe it wouldnt be worth it, I think you need to drink around 10 drinks a day for it to be worth while, and considering you may have bottled water coke speciality coffees etc you can soon drink 10 drinks, however if you are off the ship for long days well maybe you would be struggling lol .

Assuming it is the same for all ships then you can buy the package you fancy at anytime when you are on the ship they offered a choice of packages on Eclipse and they had a help desk near Customer services to advise you. We are not big drinkers so an all inclusive premium drink pack would be a waste of money but we did look at the premium soft drinks one., Friends on the same ship took the package and found it OK they drank a lot of Coffee and that coupled with the Alcoholic drinks made it worth while. We did see some people chasing the package to make sure they got there monies worth. You can view the packages on the web site and using your booking numbers price it up in £s which may save you some vat ??and as Taylor says its one less thing . to worry about .

Mediterranean cruises tend to be port intensive and thus you won't drink much on the ship during the day, only you can estimate your consumption and then use the drinks individual price chart for Celebrity published on this site to calculate cost. Do not forget to allow for the 15% gratuity charge and VAT in some ports. There is no average benefit save the avoidance of a surprise when you get your account at the end of the cruise....Richard B.

After having my head bitten off yet again this week for simply doing my job, I thought it was high time to set the record straight about prices and supplements for single travels and inform people of the role of the agent, i.e me.In the cruise industry we have many guests in the higher age range, down to the relaxing nature of a cruise, the luxury element, and a lot of the time, because the non-retired can’t afford the time or the money during their work schedule to take in a cruise.Nat...
