It all depends on what you prefer. If you are very active and like the razzamataz then bigger ships have it all and tend to attract families especially in school holidays. There are medium and smaller ships that offer a quieter ambience if that is what you prefer. If you are a wheelchair user you will need an adapted cabin as wheelchairs cannot be left in corridors.

You really need to talk to a Travel Agent , as we can't determine from your question your preferences, interests, mobility, availability or budget. However don't worry about being over 70, in non-peak times most other passengers will be also.

I am about your age but would not recommend RCI ships for first cruise as very focus on young young families only my view but would try P&O Princess Cunard unless as Hamilton said you do not mind families and children running about before anyone says NO we are not dead at 70 but once on a cruise yes then try RCI.

The ship was forced to make an emergency stop at the New South Wales town of Eden so that six men and three tee...

What No Kisses On My Pillow?!!

By Lily Canderton

Lily Canderton's blog

10 years ago a tradition of the nightly turn down service on ships was a Chocolate Kiss on your pillow but this now seems to be a thing of the past according to a recently returned cruise passengerI hear all the time from passengers that ‘standards are not what they used to be’ with less and less being included and more and more being an added payable extra – Are cruise lines cutting corners just too much?Even the Berlitz Guide author commented that standards are slipping in...
