It all depends on what you prefer. If you are very active and like the razzamataz then bigger ships have it all and tend to attract families especially in school holidays. There are medium and smaller ships that offer a quieter ambience if that is what you prefer. If you are a wheelchair user you will need an adapted cabin as wheelchairs cannot be left in corridors.

You really need to talk to a Travel Agent , as we can't determine from your question your preferences, interests, mobility, availability or budget. However don't worry about being over 70, in non-peak times most other passengers will be also.

I am about your age but would not recommend RCI ships for first cruise as very focus on young young families only my view but would try P&O Princess Cunard unless as Hamilton said you do not mind families and children running about before anyone says NO we are not dead at 70 but once on a cruise yes then try RCI.
