Royal Caribbean – Labadee

As you are reading this I will be cruising the Caribbean on Allure of the Seas. Sorry! Yesterday we stopped off at Labadee also known as Royal Caribbeans private beach escape. The enclosed resort is part of Haiti but it is no reflection of what Haiti is really like.

It is a private escape completely run by Royal Caribbean. The food & drinks all comes from the ship with beach BBQ’s and pop up bars. We have purchased the deluxe drinks package so all our drinks will also be included whilst here. There is also a large market area selling local products you really must haggle them or you will be ripped off.

There was also a local band playing Caribbean music. We spent most of the day relaxing on the beach as you get off the ship you can wander along the pier towards the beach.

Whilst in Labadee there is so much to chose from
Dragons Breath Zip Line – Whizz along the 2600 ft line at 40mph
Dragon Tail Coaster – Ride down the mountain through the lush green forests
Jet Ski hire
Water activities include Kayaks, glass bottom boat ride, parasailing or snorkeling

You can also hire beach cabanas for the day with private access to the crystal clear waters.

On our last visit to Labadee we took the free shuttle along to Columbus Cove. It was a great beach for Charlie with clear shallow waters. It was also close to food and drink.

If you prefer a little quieter then head to Nellies Beach where you will also find floating loungers.

Labadee operates a cash free system and you can use your sea pass to book any of the activities but remember you will need cash should you wish to purchase anything from the market area.

Make sure you pop back in the new year to see some photos and find out what we got up to in Jamaica and Cozumel.
