Labadoozie on Labadee

Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruises visit Labadee in Haiti as their private Island resort. This was our second visit to Labadee and it didnt disappoint.

We were up early today to make the most of the great weather on arrival in Labadee Royal Caribbean’s private island resort. As you arrive the setting is amazing with lush tropical mountains. We had breakfast on board at Jonny rockets which we all enjoyed and was a welcome calm after experiencing the Windjammer buffet. Breakfast at Jonny rockets is included but if you chose to eat there at lunch or dinner the cover charge is around $9 per person.

We then headed off the ship I thought this would be hard work with the amount of passengers on board but it was so smooth. There is no need to figure out where to disembark you get in the lift and go down to the gangway (star shaped button in every lift) there were no queues and we were straight off the ship. We collected water and towels along the pier.

As you come Into Labadee there is a huge information sign naming all the activities available and a decent sized information centre too. Having been before we spent the day at Columbus cove which was a nice quiet location. This time we headed to Barefoot beach the water was lovely and calm and shallow great for kids. This was the furthest away beach area so it wasn’t too noisy and plenty of sun beds available. The sun beds are free to hire but if you want to treat yourself then there are lots of options with beach cabanas and huge double sunbeds with canopy’s that are chargeable. We had the deluxe drinks package and all drinks are included in Labadee including the famous labadoozie a lovely refreshing tropical coconut & guava ice drink with or without some added alcohol.

Last time we were here Charlie and daddy went in the Arawak water park which was ok but not worth the charge in our opinion.

This time myself and Charlie went on the dragon coaster. At $27 it’s not cheap but well worth it for the views. They also have the zip line, boat trips, jet skies something for everyone.

Lunch is served on Labadee and consisted of typical bbq options. This suited us fine as we had a reservation for 150 Central Park early evening. An early night planned to make the most of our time in Jamaica tomorrow.

There is also a huge market area for shopping with lots of local produce. We spent a few dollars on little gifts for friends and family and a large bottle of the local rum!
