Disembarkation Dread!

So you are heading home. In an ideal world you will be straight off the ship, to the airport and jump on a flight. No hanging around and home for lunch?

In a perfect world yes!! Although this is not the case most of the time. What would you do if you had a late flight home but were off the ship at 9am. Hang around the airport all day? No thanks!!

With far away destinations becoming ever more popular this is something that can prove a bit of an issue for people. I have to admit its never really bothered me as I can find ways around it. Even with a toddler I don’t mind being off the ship early and having to wait until the evening for a flight home. In fact I have this in November when we head off on the Celebrity Constellation. We are off the ship around 9am and our flight is not until 6pm.

There are a few options here now you automatically think day room? No thanks, not for me!! I don’t fancy sitting in a room all day waiting for my flight home!! I want to do a bit of last minute shopping or see the last few sights.

Shopping, speak to your cruise consultant!! We have so much knowledge, In New York if your flying from Newark there is a huge shopping mall called Jersey Gardens only a short ride from the airport. In Miami take an excursion to see the Everglades and you also have the dolphin Mall. In my experience there is always a shopping outlet not far from the airport.

What if you are a little closer to home like Barcelona? You have luggage storage facilities and even a company that will take your luggage to a secure lock up at the airport so you can enjoy your last day sightseeing without having to drag a suitcase around all day!
