My Time Onboard Majestic Princess

I’ve just returned from the most fantastic launch onboard Princess Cruises brand new ship Majestic Princess.

MAJESTIC

We flew into Venice and it took about 1.5 hours to transfer to Trieste to meet the ship. A journey I certainly didn’t mind as the scenery was stunning.

Check-in was fast and super efficient and we were onboard within an hour of arriving at the port.

First Impression of the ship, Wow what a beauty! Everything you would expect from Princess but with a Chinese twist!

We were allocated an extended balcony on Deck 9. The cabin was very bright and airy, fitted with plenty of plug sockets, us, european, 2 USB ports and plenty of essential luggage space.

CABINS

You will find plenty of free movies available on the TV, I didn’t watch any but I’m sure I would on a longer voyage. It’s always nice to have the option and knowing it’s not going to cost a fortune like on other cruise lines.

The bathroom was nice but a little small, I’m only 5ft 4″ so I was ok, but I imagine taller folks would find it a bit cramped and it did take me a little while to find the toilet roll holder which was hidden at the far end underneath the sink. The step in the shower was very handy as us ladies know how hard it can be to shave your legs in the shower!

Beds are a big thing with Princess and they have enlisted the help of World famous sleep expert doctor Dr Breus, who’s was instrumental in the design. We had a chance to meet him later in the cruise and he’s a very interesting guy who knows his stuff, He’s even been on Oprah! I have to admit the bed itself was super comfty but I would have preferred a cover on the quilt. There is a sort of half sheet and second sheet but by the end of the first-night mine ended up on the floor and I was left with a bare quilt.

The Sailaway party was out of this world, I’ve never seen anything like it! We were told the captain is actually from Triest which is one of the reasons they decided to sail from there, whatever the reason, thousands of people lined the streets of Triest to see the ship off and we could not have asked for a better reception.

Look out over the coming weeks as I’ll be writing more blogs about the ship, dining and our exclusive behind the scenes tour.
