5 Nights On-board Celebrity Eclipse

I’ve just returned from 5 amazing nights onboard Celebrity Eclipse.

Celebrity Cruises invited me along with 17 of my colleagues to join them on board for 5 nights as she sailed from Southampton to the Canaries.

Our Hosts were fantastic and organised some great activities for us including a Galley Tour, Bridge Tour, behind the scenes theatre Tour and we even had an invite from the captain to watch the ship sail into Madeira from the Helipad!

I’ve sailed with Celebrity before but never on a Solstice class of ship so it was all very exciting and I was super impressed

Everything about the Eclipse oozes class and sophistication and what I love most about Celebrity, in general, is they have super high standards but without all the stuffy formalities you get with other cruise lines.

We stayed in a 2C balcony stateroom on Deck 6, this is classed as a restricted view but as you can see there was barely any restriction at all. The cabin is nicely laid out with plenty of storage space and to be fair I think Celebrity has the biggest bathrooms of all the mainstream cruise lines and I love the fact there is a little footrest in the show to make help us ladies when shaving our legs. ( You can tell the ship was designed by a lady)

As I mentioned we were invited to go, behind the scenes. I’ve done many a galley tour and Bridge tour in the past and they are always interesting but I’ve never been behind the scenes of the Theatre before.

We were shown around by a couple of the performers who made us feel so welcome and even lets us try on their costumes!! It was great to hear about how they train, I never knew that Celebrity, Royal Caribbean & Azamara have a huge performer training academy in Miami where the performers go to train and learn the shows before they are allocated their onboard contracts.  It all sounds very glamorous and exciting!!

I don’t often go to the theatre shows onboard as half the time I get bored and want to leave half way through but having met our new friends we had to go and see them perform and their Rock show blew my mind, it was the best show I’ve ever seen at sea.

Another first for me was the Silent disco, but as you will see from my video it should really be named the not so silent disco!!

(Video to follow)

This was hilarious and I love the fact that everyone from kiddies to Grannies got involved and as you can see everyone was having a jolly good time!!

That’s all for now, next time I’ll be talking about the drinks packages and the amazing dining venues onboard.
