Top New Destinations for 2017

A week today it will be Christmas Eve,  the year has gone so quickly and 2017 is only days away now. Traditionally the days just after Christmas are when thoughts turn to holidays, and cruise is no exception. Cruise lines are always looking for new destinations so which ports of call will be 2017 agenda to tempt people to book early?

Portugal Praia

The news that P&O Adonia will be returning to Southampton next year has seen some new itineraries for the much loved smaller ship. In fact the 15 nights sailing on 17th September has already sold out! New ports of call are Puerto Banus and Ciudadela in Spain and Praia da Rocha in Portugal`s Algrave.

The Algarve is one of Portugal`s most popular tourist areas with long sandy beaches and a choice of excellent restaurants and nightlife. Praia da Rocha is set right on a long sandy beach in the Portimao region, perfect for a relaxing day on the beach!

Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus is a marina just southwest of upmarket Marbella in Spain. Here you can wander along and look at the yachts of the rich and famous, including the King of Saudi Arabia. Behind the Marina you can shop to you hearts content ( if not your wallet`s ) and sit and watch the world go by at one of the many restaurants and bars lining the harbourside. The resort also has a reputation for the number of hugely expensive cars that drive through the streets.

Another place that is famous for its cars is Cuba. 2017 will see more and more cruise ships call into  this very different Caribbean Island. It has changed so much from when I visited Varadero and Havana several years ago. The island has beautiful sandy beaches and Havana is a must for any excursions you are thinking of doing on a cruise. MSC and Star Clippers will both have Havana as a home port during 2017.

So while you are enjoying the Christmas and New Year holidays start thinking about your cruise for 2017 and give me a call

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my client!
