The Italian Job

We may be leaving the European Union but the Italians are sending one of their ships to Southampton for summer 2018.

MSC Magnifica will sail out of the UK from April through to September. She will be offering several different itineraries to the Iberian Peninsular, Norway and around the British Isles.

Magnifica is a large, modern ship weighing 95000 tons and carrying up to 3200 passengers. She has 1259 cabins – inside, outside balcony and suites. There are 5 gourmet restaurants and 12 bars – enough to keep everyone happy I would think. The Aurea Spa will allow you to be pampered in style and, for the more energetic numerous sports facilities including 4 whirlpools, a solarium and a sky lit indoor pool with a retractable roof. Entertainment is varied with a 1200 seat theatre, 4D cinema, casino and panoramic disco to name but a few.

I sailed on her when she was first launched in 2010 and was impressed by the quality of the ship. She gives the feeling that a lot of money has been spent into the décor and furnishings on the ship. The cabins were spacious and really quiet at night and one of my favourites areas was the Tiger bar which is very luxurious.

She is an Italian ship but, for the UK market, MSC have installed tea and coffee making  facilities in the cabins as well as giving the menus a more British theme.

What about the itineraries though? Here at Cruise.co.uk we  have some amazing deals on Magnifica for next year. This one looks good sailing on 4th June from Southampton for 10 nights. The ship will visit

Le Havre – a chance to visit Paris

Invergordon – lying in one of  the most beautiful parts of the Scottish Highlands

South Queensferry – for Edinburgh but also in sight of the famous Forth Railway Bridge

Newcastle – upon – Tyne

Amsterdam

Hamburg

Then she will return to Southampton.

This is a brilliant opportunity to see our own country at its best and with prices starting at £ 549 per person  what are you waiting for !
