Gratuities…
Perhaps no other subject is as divisive in cruising as the payment (or removal) of the tips you need to pay on-board.
If rumours that the www.CRUISE.co.uk team have been hearing on social media over the last twelve hours prove to be true then a major cruise line may be changing the way gratuities (and the removal of them) would be handled onboard all of their ships.
If this news is to be believed then a policy shift has somehow been leaked from Norwegian Cruise Line’s head office that will stop guests removing their automatic gratuities as soon as they get onboard. Instead they will be forced to wait till their cruise is over to remove the gratuities from their account… After they’ve experienced the service onboard.
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) have yet to confirm or deny the change but if true this will be the third change they’ve made to their tipping policy this year (as we reported here).
