A third series of Cruising with Jane McDonald has just been announced, launching on Channel 5 tonight.

The first episode of the massively popular series will feature Jane on Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess exploring California, and airs at 9 pm on Friday February 9th.

In the four-part series, Jane also discovers the Mississippi onboard an old-style paddle steamer with American Queen Steamboat Company, Iceland on an expedition ship, and the Mekong with AmaWaterways.

Princess Cruises’ vice president UK and Europe, Tony Roberts, first revealed the news Jane would be onboard a Princess ship back in October: “Cruising with Jane McDonald’ has been an outstanding success story, and we’re delighted to be featuring in the first episode of the new series.

It was a pleasure hosting Jane, and we hope that the Channel 5 audience enjoys seeing the unique experiences California has on offer from the decks of Ruby Princess.”

As well as seeing the Golden State, guests will witness Jane attend an onboard wedding between two passengers, compete in a speed-painting competition and sign up for her most unusual spa treatment- a massage in which her entire body is coated in melted chocolate.

The second series aired throughout September 2017, averaging at 1.7 million viewers per episode; this made it the highest watched TV show on Channel 5 on Friday nights. It also gained seven per cent of the overall TV audience on a Friday night.

Jane has previously travelled with Celestyal Cruises, Uniworld, Avalon, MSC Cruises and Viking Ocean Cruises, all of which have seen a huge leap in enquiries and bookings during the broadcast of the programme and afterwards.
