Skip The Queue With Princess’ Speedier Boarding On One Ship Only

Princess Cruises has just announced it is testing out a new advance boarding programme on one of its cruise ships for a limited time.

The programme called Princess Advance Boarding allows guests to be further forward in the queue when it comes to boarding the ship and more.

Princess Advance Boarding

The line is testing the new faster boarding programme onboard Ruby Princess for only three cruises.

The pilot test will begin on the March 17th sailing from Long Beach, California and then again on the next two cruises departing March 22nd and 26th.

For a fee of $49 per cabin, guests on these sailings can benefit from early access onboard on embarkation day along with early access to book extras like shore excursions and dining reservations.

Princess has released details to fans:

“We’re currently running a pilot test on Ruby Princess for 3 voyages only. Guests with Princess Advance Boarding will be among the first to enjoy amenities onboard and access to book activities like Shore Excursions, Speciality Dining, and Sanctuary reservations.

Guests with Advance Boarding will use the Priority check-in lane and will board after Elite, Platinum, Suite, and Club Class Mini-Suite guests. Space is extremely limited and subject to availability. Available online up to 3 days before cruise.”

It is strictly capacity controlled and available to reserve up to three days before cruise departure.

If the test proves successful, there is potential for Princess Cruises to roll out Advance Boarding across the entire fleet, perhaps without the added fee.

What do you think of Princess’ speedier boarding programme?  Would you happily pay a fee for this? Does the embarkation process not bother you? Do you think every cruise line should focus on this? Leave us your comments!
