Regent Seven Seas has just announced the official beginning of the construction to the fleet’s next luxury vessel, Seven Seas Splendor.

The cruise line revealed in November 2017 that the name of their next ship was chosen from 2,600 unique passenger suggestions.

The steel cutting ceremony for the 750-passenger all-suite, all-balcony vessel began this month at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

Regent’s executives, along with those from Fincantieri, ignited the cutting torch to shape the first plate of steel for Seven Seas Splendor which will join the fleet in spring 2020.

The ship is due to enter service in the first quarter of 2020, four years after the introduction of Seven Seas Explorer, and further details of the vessel are yet to be confirmed.

RSSC president and chief executive, Jason Montague, commented: “The extraordinary demand for Seven Seas Explorer has reinforced our decision to expand our fleet and Seven Seas Splendor will offer guests a fifth option that will provide unforgettable experiences in the world’s most compelling destinations, with the incredibly high standards of luxury and service that lure guests back again and again.”

The cruise line’s fares include roundtrip business class air on intercontinental flights from the U.S. and Canada; free shore excursions; unlimited Internet access and prepaid gratuities.

The six star cruise line currently host four intimate ships: Seven Seas Explorer (currently in Marseille, France), Seven Seas Mariner (currently in Key West, Florida), Seven Seas Voyager (currently cruising the Arabian Sea), and Seven Seas Navigator (currently in St. Kitts, Virgin Islands).
